It's a legal document that sets out the financial agreement you've reached with your ex-spouse upon divorce. Once approved by a judge, it becomes a legally binding court order.
What is a "Clean Break"?
A clean break severs all financial ties between you and your ex-spouse, meaning neither of you can make a financial claim against the other in the future. This is highly recommended where possible.
We've agreed on everything, why do we need an order?
Without a court-sealed Consent Order, your financial claims against each other remain open forever. Your ex-spouse could make a claim against you years down the line, for example, if you win the lottery or receive an inheritance.
Do you complete the D81 form for me?
No. The D81 is your "Statement of Information," where you must provide a full and frank disclosure of your finances. You and your ex-spouse must complete this yourselves. I can, however, review your completed form.
Does this service include filing the order with the court?
