FAQ
What's the difference between editing and formatting, do I need both?
Editing fixes the writing itself (grammar, clarity, flow). Formatting builds the file to meet technical publishing requirements (margins, trim size, chapter breaks, table of contents). If your manuscript is already well-written
How many words equal how many pages?
A: As a general rule, about 250 words per page for standard formatting. So roughly: 25,000 words ≈ 100 pages, 50,000 words ≈ 200 pages, 87,500 words ≈ 350 pages. Send your word count in your message and I'll confirm the right package.
Do you format for platforms other than Amazon KDP?
A: Yes, I also format for Lulu, IngramSpark, and Draft2Digital, so if you're publishing wide instead of just on Amazon, I can prepare the correct file versions for each platform.
Can you format both ebook and paperback from the same manuscript?
A: Yes, and I'd recommend it even if you're only planning one right now, having both ready means you can add the second format later without extra formatting costs.
What if I don't have a finished manuscript yet?
A: That's fine, I also write books (ghostwriting, ebooks, workbooks, memoirs). Tell me your idea and I can take it from concept through to a finished, formatted, publish-ready file.
Will my file pass KDP's quality check on the first try?
A: I test formatting against KDP's requirements before delivery specifically to avoid rejections and resubmission delays. If Amazon does flag something after upload (occasionally requirements shift), I'll fix it at no extra charge.
How many revisions do I get?
A: Revisions depend on your package (see package details). I recommend giving me clear details upfront, word count, publishing platform, and any formatting preferences, so we minimize back-and-forth.
