I will design mechanical parts, assemblies and technical drawings in solidworks

About this gig
I'm a Mechanical Design Engineer with over 10 years of hands-on industry experience, currently working for a global manufacturer of heavy-duty processing equipment. My background is in designing rugged, real-world machinery for the quarrying and materials-processing industry structural steel assemblies, conveyors, chutes, hoppers, gearboxes, and fabricated equipment that has to survive tough operating conditions.
What I can do for you:
- 3D CAD modeling in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, sheet metal, weldments)
- 2D manufacturing/fabrication drawings with GD&T, tolerancing and BOMs
- Reverse engineering from sketches, photos, or rough concepts
- Design for manufacture (DFM) practical, buildable designs, not just pretty models
- File conversion (STEP, IGES, STL, PDF, DXF)
Why work with me: Most CAD freelancers come from a product-design or consumer-goods background. My experience is in heavy industrial equipment design I understand structural loading, fabrication practicality, welding call-outs, and designing parts that actually get built in a workshop, not just rendered

FAQ
Can you work from a hand sketch or napkin drawing?
Yes — send me a sketch, rough dimensions, or reference photos and I'll turn it into a proper 3D model and drawing.
Do you provide manufacturing drawings, not just 3D models?
Yes, 2D fabrication/manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances and BOMs are included from the Standard package up (or as an add-on to Basic).
What if my project is bigger than the packages listed?
Message me with your requirements first — I quote custom prices for larger assemblies or ongoing work.
Can you sign an NDA?
Yes, happy to sign an NDA before starting if needed.
What software do you use?
SolidWorks primarily; I also work in Autodesk Inventor.
