The lesson is divided into instrumental practice and theory.

I tailor the lesson content to the student's musical tastes while consistently expanding their repertoire and introducing new musical styles; this fosters musical awareness and exposes the student to diverse instrumental techniques, rhythms, and melodies.

I use transcriptions (learning songs by ear) to engage the student and reinforce their rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic perception.

I incorporate theory to teach sheet music reading and the recognition of musical symbols, thereby ensuring the student's independence.

By focusing on proper body positioning, we can ensure technical improvement on the instrument.
