1. Can I leave all my wealth to my wife or one specific child?
Under strict Islamic law of inheritance (Faraid), you cannot leave a bequest to someone who is already an automatic legal heir. The shares for your spouse and children are pre-determined by the Quran. I will calculate exactly what those obligatory shares are for you.
2. What if I have adopted children or step-children?
Adopted and step-children do not automatically inherit under standard Faraid rules. However, you can use your discretionary 1/3rd Wasiyyah (bequest) to allocate a portion of your wealth to them. I will structure this correctly in your Halal Will.
3. Is this document legally binding in my country?
