About this gig
I've built Azure Functions for clients since 2020, in C#, Node.js and Python, with HTTP, timer and storage triggers. I also spent seven years at Bentley Systems, where I built services on Azure.
What I can do:
- New function apps on the Flex Consumption plan, with VNet integration and always-ready instances when you need them
- Move .NET in-process apps to the isolated worker model. Support for the in-process model ends on November 10, 2026.
- Move Linux Consumption apps to Flex Consumption before that plan retires on September 30, 2028
- Durable Functions for long-running workflows, on the Durable Task Scheduler
- Remote MCP servers on Azure Functions, so AI agents can call your tools
- Managed identity instead of connection strings, plus Key Vault references
- CI/CD with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, with infrastructure in Bicep or Terraform
- Monitoring with Application Insights

Principal software engineer with 12 years in production, remote with US companies since 2021. I build AI agents and MCP servers, plus the backends around them: FastAPI, Node.js, React, single sign-on and Stripe billing on AWS, GCP, Azure or Cloudflare. Recent work includes the MCP endpoint for Companion Hub, an AI matchmaking agent on ElizaOS and Napster's single sign-on for Napster AI, Napster Music and Napster Spaces. From 2021 to 2024 I was an engineering manager on the open-source Ethereal Engine. I started at Bentley Systems in 2014.

FAQ
Can you migrate my in-process .NET functions?
Yes. I move them to the isolated worker model, update the bindings and test each function before you deploy. The Standard package covers up to 5 functions.
Which hosting plan should I use?
Flex Consumption suits most new apps. I'll tell you when Premium or a Dedicated plan fits better.
Do you need access to my Azure subscription?
Contributor access to one resource group is enough. I can also hand you Bicep or Terraform and a pipeline to run yourself.
Can my functions act as tools for an AI agent?
Yes. The Azure Functions MCP extension lets a function app serve as a remote MCP server for Claude, Copilot, Cursor and other clients.
