Most Google Business Profiles are half empty, and the owner has no idea.

I mapped 1,156 water damage restoration listings across 30 US metros to work out what actually separates the top three from everyone else. Two findings surprised me.

Median star rating was 4.9 in every single rank band, top three down to position twenty. Rating separates nobody. If you are at 4.9 you have already won that argument.

What did track with rank was dull and free: 95% of top three listings were set to open 24 hours, against 87% of positions 11 to 20. One field, one minute, and most owners never touch it.

That is the kind of thing I fix. Categories, services, products, attributes, questions and answers, hours, service areas, photos and posts. Most profiles I audit run two or three categories while the business above them runs ten.
