I will developmentally edit your fiction book
Editor
About this Gig
You've done the hard part: you wrote the story. Now you need to know whether it actually works on the page. That's where I come in!
I'm a fiction editor specialising in developmental feedback, with a particular love for horror, dystopian and post-apocalyptic fiction, fantasy, sci-fi and LitRPG.
Ill look at the bigger picture of your story, including:
- Plot and structure
- Pacing and story flow
- Character development and arcs
- POV and character voice
- Worldbuilding
- Continuity and consistency
- Themes and emotional impact
All packages include comments directly in your manuscript alongside clear, actionable feedback. The level and depth of feedback depends on the package you choose.
This gig is offered at an introductory rate while I build my portfolio further within these genres.
My approach is collaborative, encouraging and straightforward. I'll tell you what's working, what isn't quite landing, and most importantly, why.
Not sure which package you need? Send me a message and tell me a little about your book!

FAQ
I’m new to writing, will your feedback be beginner-friendly?
Absolutely! My approach is encouraging, honest, and clear. I’ll explain the 'why' behind my edits so you can learn from them, not just accept them. My aim is to help you grow as a writer while improving your current story.
What genres do you edit?
I work across most fiction genres, including speculative fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, contemporary, and horror. I’m open to other genres too, if you’re unsure, just message me first so I can make sure I’m the right fit for your story.
How quickly can you deliver edits?
Delivery time depends on the package and word count. I allow enough time to read your manuscript carefully and give it the attention it deserves. If you have a specific deadline, message me before ordering and I’ll let you know what’s possible.
Do you edit nonfiction or poetry?
I currently focus on fiction projects, so I don’t take on nonfiction, poetry, or academic work. My goal is to help storytellers refine their craft, pacing, and character work.
Will you change my writing style or rewrite my work?
No. Developmental editing focuses on strengthening your story rather than rewriting it for you. I’ll highlight what’s working, what could be stronger and why, with suggestions you can use while revising, while keeping your story and voice your own.
What format should I send my manuscript in?
Please send your document as a Word file (.doc or .docx) so I can use Track Changes for detailed feedback. If your story is in Google Docs or another format, I can guide you on how to convert it easily.
What English do you edit in, UK or US?
I'm American but based in the UK, so happy to adapt to either.
What is the difference between an Editorial Assessment and a Full Developmental Edit?
Both look at the big picture of your story, including structure, pacing, character development, POV and worldbuilding. An Editorial Assessment focuses on identifying overall patterns, strengths, weaknesses and revision priorities, supported by selective manuscript comments. A Full Developmental Edit
What does a revision include?
A revision covers reasonable changes or clarification to the feedback I’ve delivered. It does not include a second developmental edit or assessment of a rewritten manuscript. If you’d like me to review your manuscript again after revision, please contact me for a custom offer.
My manuscript is longer than the package word count. Can you still edit it?
Absolutely. Additional word counts can be added to your order. If your manuscript is significantly longer than the package limit, message me first and I can help you choose the best option.
