What file formats will I receive with my mold design?
Every delivery includes STL files ready for 3D printing and STEP/STP files for CNC or manufacturing use. On Premium packages you also receive the native SolidWorks or Fusion 360 source file — so you own the full editable design, not just the output.
I have a physical object I want to replicate into a mold — can you design it from photos only?
Yes, this is one of the most common requests I handle. Send me clear photos from at least three angles (top, front, side) plus the overall dimensions and I will reverse-engineer the shape into a precision 3D mold design. No CAD file from you is required.
Can you design molds specifically for slip casting ceramics?
Yes. I design slip casting master molds and printable mold forms used in ceramic and pottery production. Just describe your clay body, shrinkage rate, and casting process and I will account for all of it in the geometry and wall thickness calculations.
How precise will the mold dimensions be?
