Hello! I'm Hiro, a Japanese calligraphy artist based in Japan.
I am trained in traditional Japanese calligraphy and hold a recognized DAN rank.
I create authentic, 100% hand-brushed calligraphy using traditional brushes and ink.
I create meaningful Kanji for names, logos, tattoos, and personal artwork. For names, I carefully select Kanji based on pronunciation and meaning.
I offer Kaisho and Gyosho styles and can combine my original calligraphy with digital design and illustrations.
All calligraphy is individually handwritten by me — never generated by AI or fonts.
FAQ
Q: Will my calligraphy have a vertical or horizontal layout?
A: My calligraphy usually uses a vertical layout. For names with 5 or more Kanji characters, I use a horizontal layout. Horizontal designs are written from left to right for international readability.
Q: Can you create Kanji for my first name?
A: Yes. All packages are designed for first names. I select Kanji based on the pronunciation of your name, choosing characters with positive meanings whenever possible.
Q: Can I use the design for a tattoo or logo?
A: Yes. You can use my calligraphy for tattoos and logos. If you plan to use it as a trademark, please contact me before ordering. Premium illustrations may include licensed Canva elements and cannot be used as part of a trademark.
Q: Is the calligraphy handwritten?
A: Yes. Every piece is 100% handwritten by me using traditional Japanese brushes and ink. I never use AI-generated calligraphy or calligraphy fonts.
