A clothing seller needed their June 2026 sales report converted from PDF into Excel, with category-wise and product-wise sales breakdowns (quantity + revenue) and accuracy double-checked.
Challenge: PDF exports aren't analysis-ready; this report had run-together text with no consistent column structure, inconsistent spacing, and no clear delimiters separating Order ID, SKU, Product, Category, Qty, Price, City, and Status.
What I did:
- Extracted the raw data from the PDF into a working sheet.
- Structured it into proper columns (Order ID, Date, SKU, Product, Category, Qty, Price, City, Status).
- Cleaned whitespace, standardized dates, and applied consistent currency formatting.
- Validated totals against the original PDF to confirm accuracy.
- Built PivotTables for category-wise and product-wise sales (qty + revenue).
- Added a bonus Top 3 Cities by Sales breakdown from the cleaned city data.
Tools: Excel, Power Query, PivotTables, TRIM/CLEAN, Text-to-Columns.
Result: A single clean Excel workbook replacing the unusable PDF, with category and product performance clearly broken out, ready to reference monthly with no manual reformatting.
