Land Use Land Cover (LULC) change analysis is conducted by defining:

1-Study area

2-Time interval

3-land cover classification scheme based on the study objectives.

Input

Imagery such as Landsat or Sentinel-2 is then acquired for consistent seasons to minimize seasonal variation.

Process

Image pre-processing is performed, including atmospheric correction, cloud masking, band stacking, and clipping to the area of interest using GIS software. Supervised classification techniquespreferably machine-learning methods like Random Forestare applied to classify land cover classes with training samples derived from high-resolution imagery and field knowledge.

Comparison and Results

LULC change detection is carried out through post-classification comparison to quantify transitions between land cover classes over time. Area statistics, percentage change, and temporal trends are calculated and visualized using tables and graphs. The analysis is efficiently completed using a combination of GIS software, cloud platforms, and visual interpretation tools, resulting in reliable maps and statistical outputs.
