Proofreading is your last pass before your book goes out into the world. By this stage your story is done and your prose is polished. What you need now is a careful, fresh set of eyes to catch everything that slipped through.
I catch what spellcheck misses and what you've stopped seeing after months of staring at the same pages.
What proofreading covers:
- Spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors
- Missed or repeated words
- Inconsistent character names, place names, and details
- Formatting issues spacing, paragraph breaks, capitalization inconsistencies

How is proofreading different from editing?
Proofreading is a final error pass on a manuscript that's already been edited and polished. It catches typos, missed words, punctuation errors, and formatting inconsistencies. It doesn't address prose quality, pacing, or story-level issues.
How do I know if I need proofreading or editing?
If your story is solid, your prose feels right, and you've already been through at least one editing pass, proofreading is probably what you need. If you're still not happy with how the writing reads or you haven't had a professional edit yet, start with manuscript editing.
Do you work with explicit or dark content?
Yes. All fiction genres and subgenres are welcome with no content restrictions.
What is a style sheet and do I need one?
A style sheet is a document that tracks all the consistency decisions made during the proofread (character name spellings, hyphenation choices, recurring terminology, etc.). It's especially useful if you're writing a series or plan to work with editors in the future.
What file format do you need?
Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx). If your manuscript is in a different format, message me before ordering.
What if my manuscript is over 100,000 words?
