What are Shopify metafields (and why do I need them)?
Metafields are custom fields that let you store structured data like ingredients, specs, sizing, FAQs, materials, instructions, and more—so your product pages update dynamically without manual edits.
Do you work with metaobjects too? What’s the difference?
Yes. Metafields store data on products/collections/etc. Metaobjects are best for reusable structured content (like FAQ entries, size guides, feature blocks) that you can reference across many products.
Will the metafields show on my product pages automatically?
Not automatically. I can either integrate them into your theme (recommended) or set up the metafields only. If you want them displayed on pages/cards, tell me where you want them shown.
Can you set up metafields for collections and filters?
Yes. I can create the correct metafield types so Shopify’s native collection filters work properly (e.g., size, material, color, features).
Can you bulk add metafield values to products?
Yes!
What do you need from me to start?
Your store URL, collaborator access (preferred), and examples of what fields you want or what you are trying to achieve (or a few sample products and what you want displayed).
