FAQ
What’s the difference between this and your Press Kit gig?
This is just the press release — clean and professional. The Press Kit gig adds an author bio and a pitch angle for media. If you already know your angle, this one’s enough.
Is this written specifically for self-published authors?
Yes — I write these knowing you don’t have a publisher’s PR team behind you, so the release has to do more of the work on its own.
Will you include quotes in the press release?
Yes, starting at Standard — either a quote from you about the book, or I can help draft one that sounds natural.
What word count do I actually need?
250 words covers a straightforward announcement. 400 is the standard length most distribution sites expect. 600 gives room for a bigger launch with more context — I can help you decide based on what you’re sending it to.
Can you optimize it for SEO?
Yes, Standard and Premium include relevant keywords worked in naturally, so it has a better shot at showing up in search if it gets published online.
Do you handle distribution too?
Not in this gig — this is writing only. If you need it sent out to media outlets, check out my Distribution gig and we can pair them.
How fast can I get this back?
Basic is 1-day delivery. If it’s more urgent than that, message me before ordering and I’ll see what’s possible.
What information do you need from me to write it?
Your book’s title, genre, a summary, and anything specific you want highlighted — I’ll shape the release from there.
Can I request changes if the tone isn’t right?
Yes — 1 revision on Basic, 2 on Standard, 3 on Premium.
Do you write press releases for anything besides book launches?
This specific gig is book-focused, but message me if it’s a different kind of announcement — I may be able to help outside this listing.
