You have an internal tool, client portal, or software-enabled service in mind, and one real question: will the people it is for actually use it?
Mock-ups and slide decks cannot answer that. People nod at a picture and then work around the real thing. Building the full product to find out is the expensive way to learn.
I build a new standalone MVP from scratch for one primary user and one core journey, with only the interface, data, and logic that journey needs. It is deployed to a test environment with a validation plan: who to put in front of it, what to ask them to do, and what evidence to capture. Handover states what was built, what remains unknown, and what to decide next.
Greenfield only. Mock-ups and process descriptions inform the build; existing code is not inspected or reused. The MVP tests use, not production readiness or an unproven AI claim.
The build is complete when the intended user can finish the agreed journey in the deployed MVP and you have what you need to run the validation.
