What is the difference between a custom app and a public app?
A custom app is installed on one store and skips App Store review, so it ships fast. A public app is listed on the App Store, needs billing, GDPR webhooks and Shopify review, and can be sold to any merchant. I build both.
Do you use Remix or React Router?
React Router, which is what the current Shopify app template uses. If you already have a Remix app, I can maintain it as is or migrate it to React Router as a gig extra.
Who hosts the app and who pays for it?
You do, and it stays in your account. I deploy to whatever you prefer, and I will tell you the realistic monthly cost before we start so there are no surprises.
Will you help me get the app approved on the App Store?
Yes, on Premium. I prepare the listing assets, privacy policy pointers, GDPR webhooks and test instructions, then handle reviewer feedback rounds. Approval timing is Shopify's call, not mine.
Can you add features to an app I already have?
Yes. Send me the repo and I will review it first and tell you honestly whether extending it or rebuilding is the better use of your money.
Do I get the source code?
Always. Full repository, README, environment variables documented and a walkthrough video. No obfuscation and no licence that ties you to me.
How do you handle my store data?
I request the minimum API scopes the feature needs, work on a development store where possible, and sign an NDA on request. I do not keep access after handover unless you ask me to.
How long does a Shopify app take?
A focused custom app is usually 7-10 days. A full multi screen app is 2-3 weeks. A public App Store app is 4-6 weeks including review. I confirm the exact timeline before you order
