My app uses WebSockets — can you still migrate it?
Standard Lambda + API Gateway doesn't support persistent WebSocket connections directly. This needs a different setup (API Gateway WebSocket APIs), so please mention this in the order requirements — I'll scope it separately rather than assume it's covered.
What if my app reads/writes files to local disk?
Lambda's file system is temporary and doesn't persist between requests. If your app relies on local file storage, I'll move that logic to S3 as part of the migration — let me know in the requirements so I can plan for it.
Will my AWS costs really be close to $0?
For low-to-moderate traffic, yes - AWS's free tier covers a generous amount of Lambda and API Gateway usage. Costs scale up with real traffic, so this depends on your actual usage once live, not a fixed guarantee.
Do I need to give you full access to my AWS account?
No - I'll guide you through creating a scoped IAM role with only the permissions needed for this migration. You keep full control of your account and root credentials.
What if my app has long-running processes?
Lambda has a 15-minute execution limit per invocation. If your app has processes that regularly exceed that, let me know before ordering so we can discuss whether serverless is the right fit or if adjustments are needed.
