I will optimize your pcb bom and suggest second source replacements
Electronics and Firmware Engineer, Software developer
About this Gig
I will review and optimize your PCB Bill of Materials (BOM) to reduce sourcing risk, improve availability, and suggest practical second-source replacements.
This service is ideal if your design is facing long lead times, obsolete components, expensive parts, or fragile single-source dependencies. I will analyze your BOM and identify components that may cause production delays, unnecessary cost, or procurement risk.
What I can do:
- Identify obsolete, NRND, hard-to-source, or risky parts
- Suggest equivalent or alternative components
- Flag single-source and supply-chain risks
- Review package compatibility and basic fit concerns
- Highlight parts that may impact assembly or purchasing
- Provide clear notes and replacement recommendations
Best suited for existing designs that already have a BOM and are ready for sourcing or manufacturing review.
ATENTION: Before ordering, please always contact me first.
Please note:
- This is a sourcing/risk optimization service, not full circuit redesign
- Final electrical validation remains the clients responsibility
- For best results, send the BOM plus schematic or key design notes

FAQ
What files do you need to start?
At minimum, I need your BOM in Excel, CSV, or PDF. Schematic PDF and PCB files are highly recommended for better replacement accuracy.
Do you guarantee the replacement parts will work?
No one serious should guarantee that without full validation. I provide technically grounded replacement recommendations, but final electrical and functional verification is your responsibility.
Can you reduce BOM cost as well?
Yes, where practical. My main priority is availability and reduced sourcing risk, but I also flag opportunities for cost reduction.
Can you work with JLCPCB, LCSC, Mouser, DigiKey, Farnell, or TME parts?
Yes. I can optimize around preferred suppliers if you specify them in advance.
Do you redesign the circuit if replacements are not straightforward?
Not in this gig. This gig focuses on BOM review, sourcing risk, and alternatives. Circuit redesign should be a separate gig. Please contact me.
Can you review partially completed BOMs?
Yes, but results will be better if manufacturer part numbers and package information are included.
Will you check footprint compatibility?
I can flag obvious package and pin-compatibility concerns, but this is not a full PCB/library verification unless clearly included in scope.
Is this good for prototype builds or production?
Both. It is especially useful before prototype ordering, pilot runs, or when preparing for repeat production.
