What types of content and file formats do you accept?
I can edit articles, blog posts, documents, websites, and manuscripts. Please send a Microsoft Word document or a link to a Google Doc or website. I track changes, make suggestions, or make a list of proposed edits with page links for the website.
Can you edit a slide presentation or PDF document?
Yes! For a slide presentation (PowerPoint, Google Slides), I will create a list of suggested edits with slide numbers in Microsoft Word (or a Google Doc, if you prefer). For a PDF document, I will use the highlight-and-comment feature to note edits.
What do you check for when editing?
I review spelling and punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, overlong sentences and wordiness, overuse of certain words or phrases, passive versus active voice, unnecessary words, language use, and word usage, with minor rewording suggestions.
What editing tools do you use?
I use the AP Style Guide or the Chicago Manual of Style (your choice), along with your company style guide. If you don't have a style guide, I refer to existing content. I also use the Merriam-Webster dictionary and Grammarly Premium.
We use Semrush. Can you follow its guidelines for keywords and readability?
Yes, I’m experienced with Semrush SEO Writing Assistant, which checks content for essential keywords, readability, and reading level. I can use this tool if you provide me with access and a link.
