About this Gig
A line edit aims to improve the prose on a sentence and paragraph level. While a copyedit ensures your manuscript is free of grammatical errors and meets publishing standards, the line edit focuses on making your style and voice shine to give your audience a great reading experience.
This service doesn't provide feedback on big-picture elements such as structure, plot, and character development. I recommend doing a developmental edit to polish the story before booking this service. Working on the story typically involves a lot of rewriting, so paying to improve the prose before that would mean paying for it again after rewrites, therefore wasting your money.
You'll receive an edited version of your manuscript with all the changes tracked via Word so you can keep your agency and review the edits before accepting them. I will also comment on the changes to explain them when relevant.
LGBTQIA+ romance that overlaps with other genres such as fantasy or scifi are more than welcome. Don't hesitate to contact me before ordering to discuss your project and needs. I can also provide a rate more tailored to your word count than the packages.

FAQ
What file format can I send?
For a line edit, Word is the industry standard as it allows editors to track the changes made efficiently. Converting can result in file corruption, so if you don't have Word, you can use the free trial version when reviewing the edited document.
Do you accept manuscripts written with generative AI?
No. Generative AI poses a lot of copyright issues in the arts. I don't use it to edit your manuscript either.
My word count is significantly shorter than the packages. Do I have to pay full price?
I can make a custom offer if your work is significantly shorter or longer than the word count offered in the packages. I have no intention to make you pay the full price intended for a manuscript around 40000 words if your manuscript is only 20000 words, for example. Feel free to contact me.
