The jobs worth automating are the boring ones nobody wants to own. A lead that came in at 2am and sat there. The same five fields copied between two apps. The eleventh version of a reply you've already written ten times.

I connect things with n8n, make automation, zapier or plain API calls, and put an AI step in only where it earns its place: drafting, classifying, summarising, routing. Most workflows need one good AI step and a lot of unglamorous plumbing. Anyone selling you an agent that does all of it is selling you something that breaks on a Tuesday.

Things I build often are lead capture through to a first reply that reads like you wrote it, inbox triage sorted before you open it, reports assembled from three systems on a schedule, and mcp integration so Claude can reach your tools directly.

You own the result and get the documentation to maintain it. Self-hosted n8n is worth a look if you'd rather not pay per task forever.
