About this Gig
Editing is my passion and I want to tackle your first chapter with you. That first chapter has one job: to hook readers, but it doesn't end there. The next chapters keep the reader engaged and start heading down the path of your wonderful and unique story.
I will reflect on your characters, plot, story structure, flow, and any plot twists/conflicts that I come across. I will then provide you a thorough report of everything I find that works (we all like good news) and what doesn't work (because it's hard to hear, but extremely important) along with the above-mentioned reflections. It is my pleasure to work with you to take your story to the next level!
I provide line-by-line editing to tighten up sentence structure, dialogue, actions, and descriptions so your story is sharp and clear. I will give an honest critique of your work, keeping in mind all of the necessary components of a story: character, setting, conflict, plot and theme. My feedback can be used not only in your current work, but also for future writing endeavors.
This is not just a read through with vague feedback.

FAQ
What is your experience with beta reads?
I have been working with aspiring and published authors for over 10 years. I've read work in the very beginning stages through the final draft before being sent back to the agent for final approval.
Can I include my prologue with my first chapter?
If the prologue and first chapter are 3000 words or fewer I will read both. Otherwise picking the standard or premium package might be a better option.
Will you do a beta read for my whole book?
Yes! If you are happy with my work, I will provide you with a price for a full beta read of your novel. The price will be based on total word count.
What file format should I use?
I prefer Microsoft Word as it allows me to comment inline as I am reading.
