The most typical order here is a line edit level where I read through twice catching errors and inconsistencies. If your book only needs a final proofread please let me know in the sample order. Or, if you are looking for in-depth plot/character feedback I'm happy to offer that as well.

Based on the 5 pages you send me I will track the frequency of errors (specifically: spelling, punctuation, grammar, tense, and continuity) and assign a 'per page cost' from that. The range will be between $3/500wds for final proofreading, and $6 for a much more in-depth edit, with an average of $4.

The quote I give you will be the final price assuming the sample is representative of the piece as a whole. If the majority of the work does not match the sample, I will contact you to revise the quoted price. Please send a sample you believe is similar to the rest of the work.

Please select 5 pages that you believe are representative of the work as a whole. If you have extensively edited the first chapter but not the rest of it, please send me pages from a later chapter. If the majority of the work does not match the sample I will contact you to revise the quoted price.

You are welcome to either create a separate document with only the 2500 word sample or send me the full document and I will select a random 2500 to edit. If you aren't sure what would be the best sample feel free to send the whole piece.

I prefer to use Google Docs to 'suggest' edits, but I will create a separate copy that I will share with you once I am finished. I can accept documents in either .doc or .docx as well and will share the edits with you as a Google Doc as well as a .docx copy.
