About this Gig
I am a professional developmental editor who specialises in sci-fi and fantasy stories. I will beta read your novel with a trained eye and provide you with the tools you need to get the most out of your next edit.
I will give my personal opinions on the story - both the things I loved and didn't - as well as my professional opinion on the technical aspects of your story that can be improved (this is not an edit, as such your novel will not be changed!)
I provide a tailored reader report (PDF) and can also provide in-line comments as an optional extra, but if you would prefer the in-line comments instead of a reader report, get in touch and I'll be happy to do that.
Please send manuscripts as a .docx/Word file.
Please get in touch prior to placing an order so we can discuss the elements of your story you'd like me to address in my report.

- In-line comments: I will add comments to your manuscript highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of your novel to the line. Note: this is not a for of editing.

Do you use AI?
No. What would be the fun in that? I love reading new stories! Plus, ff you wanted to use AI to get feedback on your novel, you could cut out the middle man and do it for free.
Is this editing?
No. I can offer developmental edits on request, but a beta read is a more general overview of story, structure, and characters deigned to help you make the most of your next edit.
