I will create 3d cad models for manufacturing, cnc and 3d printing
About this gig
Every engineering project is unique. Let's discuss your specific needs, complexity, and timeline first so I can give you an accurate price and a custom offer.
About This Gig: I specialize in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), bridging the gap between digital CAD and real-world fabrication. I translate initial concepts into functional, manufacture-ready mechanical components by applying strict engineering principles, geometric tolerancing, and material optimization.
About Me: Hi! I'm João, a Mechanical Engineering student with hands-on experience designing drivetrain and structural parts for Formula Student and Formula E-Vee prototypes.
My Services Include:
- SolidWorks 3D CAD Modeling
- Professional 2D Technical Drawings
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Drivetrain simulations & gear analysis
- Basic FEA (Static Stress Analysis)
What I need to start: Send me your 2D sketches, photos, reference images, or even a detailed hand-drawn idea with dimensions. I will turn it into a precise 3D model in SolidWorks.
I pride myself on clear communication, attention to detail, and strict deadlines. Let's bring your ideas to life!

FAQ
What do I need to provide for you to start modeling?
Provide 2D sketches, hand-drawn concepts with dimensions, reference photos, or technical specifications. Please also mention your intended manufacturing method (e.g., CNC machining, 3D printing, sheet metal) so I can optimize the design for production from the start.
Why should I message you before placing an order?
Mechanical engineering projects vary heavily in complexity. Messaging me first allows us to review your technical requirements, manufacturing constraints, and timeline, ensuring I can provide an accurate, tailored custom offer.
What software do you use, and will I get the source files?
I primarily use SolidWorks for 3D CAD and 2D technical drawings. Yes, all packages include the native SolidWorks source files (SLDPRT/SLDASM) as well as universal manufacturing formats (STEP, STL, and PDF).
I have a physical part but no drawings. Can you make a 3D model of it?
Yes, I offer reverse engineering. You will need to take clear, straight-on photos of the part and provide accurate caliper measurements for all critical dimensions, hole placements, and overall bounding sizes.
Do you include Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in your drawings?
Yes. For the Standard and Premium packages, I apply proper GD&T to the 2D technical drawings to ensure your machinist knows the exact acceptable deviations for critical features and mating parts.
What is the "Basic FEA Analysis" extra?
This extra includes a linear static stress simulation to verify your part's structural integrity under a specific load. I will provide a technical PDF report detailing the stress distribution, displacement, and factor of safety.
I have a large assembly with over 20 different parts. How do we do this?
For complex multi-part systems, please message me directly. We will discuss the mechanism, break the project down into organized sub-assemblies, and I will create a custom milestone offer. If required, we can also include a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) through the gig extras.
