John Alonso is an illustrator and visual storyteller based in Zurich. His work focuses on characters, narrative worlds and conceptual illustration. His illustrations explore the space between familiarity and strangeness, creating worlds that invite curiosity and reflection. All work is drawn by hand, allowing space for imperfection and intuition. John develops illustrations for books, editorial projects and selected brand collaborations. What do you need to get started?
A short description of your idea, references if available, and the intended use of the illustration. The clearer the input, the stronger the result.
Do you offer custom styles?
My work follows a consistent visual language focused on storytelling, mood and character. I can adapt within that range, but I do not replicate other artists' styles.
Can I use the illustration commercially?
Commercial use is included in the Premium package or can be added as an extra. Please select it if you plan to use the artwork for business purposes.
How does the process work?
After we align on the idea, I start with a concept or sketch. Once approved, I develop the final illustration with color, detail and atmosphere.
How do revisions work?
Revisions are meant for small adjustments such as details, colors or minor changes in the composition. They do not include completely new concepts or major changes after approval. To ensure the best result, I recommend sharing clear feedback early in the process.
Do you work on books or larger projects?
Yes. I am happy to work on book projects, editorial series or larger visual concepts. Feel free to reach out before placing an order.
