FAQ
What information do I need before ordering a paperback or hardcover cover?
I need your trim size, FINAL page count, paper type (white or cream) and print type (black & white or color). These decide the spine width and cover size. If you are unsure, message me before ordering and I will help.
What if my page count is not final yet?
Send me your formatted manuscript or an exact page count. The spine width depends on it. If the page count changes after delivery, the spine must be adjusted, and a small fee may apply for the update.
Do you design hardcover covers for Amazon KDP?
Yes. KDP hardcovers are case laminate (printed directly on the board, no dust jacket). I use KDP's separate hardcover template, because it is not the same size as a paperback cover. Hardcover is included in the Premium package.
Can you also make my ebook cover?
Yes. The Standard and Premium packages include a Kindle ebook cover at 1600 x 2560 px. Need versions for Google Play Books or Apple Books? You can add that with the extra service on this gig.
How many revisions do I get?
Basic includes 2 revisions, Standard 3 and Premium 4. A revision means changes to the chosen concept (text, colors, layout, imagery). A completely new direction or genre change counts as a new concept, and extra revisions can be added.
What do you need from me to start?
Your book title, author name, genre, blurb, author bio, and 2-3 covers you like. If you have a series, send the earlier covers. For print covers, I also need the trim size and page count. ISBN and barcode are optional because KDP can add one.
Can I use the cover commercially? Are the images and fonts licensed?
Yes. I only use fonts and images with a commercial license that allows use on book covers. You may use the final cover for your book on KDP and other retailers. Please do not send images you do not have the right to use.
How long does delivery take, and can you deliver faster?
Basic is delivered in 2 days, Standard in 4 and Premium in 6. Timing starts after I receive your book details. If you are in a hurry, the Extra Fast Delivery option can be added to your order.
What files will I receive, and do I get the source file?
You receive a print-ready PDF for paperback or hardcover, plus a JPG for the ebook cover (and a 3D mockup in Standard and Premium). Source files (layered) are included in Premium, or can be added as an extra.
