Do you use macros or VBA?
No. I use only native Power Query, which is built into Excel. There are no macros, no VBA and no add-ins to install, so the files run safely in companies with strict IT policies. You just open the file, click Refresh All, and your data updates automatically. It is a simple, safe way to automate.
Which Excel versions work with Power Query?
Power Query is built into Microsoft 365 and Excel 2016 or later on Windows. Excel 2010 and 2013 need Microsoft’s free add-in. Mac Excel supports Power Query in a more limited way, so please tell me your version before ordering and I will confirm your project will work. Just message me first.
How do I refresh the report after delivery?
Open the file, go to the Data tab and click Refresh All. Power Query re-reads your source files, repeats every cleaning step and updates your tables and PivotTables in seconds. Standard and Premium orders include a short video walkthrough showing exactly where to click. No coding is needed.
Can you merge many Excel or CSV files into one?
Yes. I can combine multiple workbooks, sheets or CSV files into one clean table, even when the columns are in a different order. Drop new files into the same folder and refresh, and they are added automatically. Please send two or three sample files so I can check the structure first.
What kinds of messy data can you clean?
I remove duplicates and blanks, fix inconsistent dates, numbers and text formats, split or merge columns, trim extra spaces, correct errors and standardize names. Tell me what looks wrong in your file and I will list the cleaning steps I plan to apply before I start building. No guesswork involved.
Will my original files be changed?
No. Your original files stay untouched. Power Query only reads your source data and builds a separate cleaned output, so you can always go back to the raw version. Every cleaning step stays visible in the query, so you can see exactly what was done and adjust it later. Your raw data stays safe.
Is my data kept confidential?
Yes. I only use your files to complete your order, never share them with anyone, and delete them once the order is complete. I am happy to sign an NDA before you send anything sensitive. Please remove personal or financial details that are not needed for the project. Your privacy comes first.
How long does a project take?
Basic orders (one file) are delivered in 1 day, Standard in 2 days and Premium in about 4 days. Very large files or complex reports may need extra time, and I will tell you before starting. You can add the 24-hour fast delivery extra if you are in a hurry. I always aim to deliver on time.
Can you also build dashboards or PivotTables?
Yes. The Premium package includes a PivotTable summary built from your cleaned data. If you need extra pivot pages, charts or a full dashboard, order the extra option or message me first. I will confirm the scope and price so there are no surprises after you order. Clear scope from the start.
What do you need from me to start?
Send your messy files (or sample files if they are confidential), describe the final layout you want and tell me how often you refresh the report. A screenshot or sketch of the desired result helps a lot. I will confirm the plan before building, so you get exactly what you need. No jargon needed.
