Do you want to know how readers truly experience your story?
After spending months or even years writing and revising, its easy to lose perspective. You've read your manuscript so many times that every scene feels maybe a bit too familiar. Is your story still engaging? Do your characters feel real? Does the pacing keep readers turning pages?
What you need is a Beta Read.
As your beta reader, I'll give you the perspective you can't get on your own: that of a thoughtful, honest, and invested reader who also understands the craft of storytelling. You'll receive a detailed report describing how your story comes across, what pulls readers in, what might confuse or slow them down, and what truly stands out as memorable.
My goal is to help you see your work through fresh eyes so you can enter your next revision knowing exactly what works and what needs attention.

Is my manuscript ready for beta reader feedback?
I believe you are ready for beta reader feedback when you've done everything you can to make your manuscript readable and engaging. A beta reader's feedback helps you polish and punch up your manuscript before querying/publishing. If you don't feel ready yet, check out my developmental edit gig.
What does the Inline Comments include?
Depending on which tier you order, inline comments will include my realtime impressions as a reader ("this evoked this emotion/reaction") and in-depth feedback and ideas for improvement ("this line of dialogue seems out of character", or "what if she didn't do that, but this instead?").
What does the Reader Report include?
The report will contain a breakdown of all major categories of your story and thoughts and feedback on them. These include: overall impressions and review; characters and their development; plot and structure; settings and descriptions; themes and motifs; prose and grammar; and additional thoughts.
Which genres do you give feedback on?
During my years as a beta reader, I have given feedback on everything from romance to non-fiction. As a reader, I am familiar with all genres of fiction and non-fiction, and am a naturally curios person, ready to dive into any subject matter.
Does it matter if I write in English (UK) or English (US)?
No. As a Swede, I've been taught both. I am familiar with everything from specific spelling variations to common expressions on both sides of the pond. If I'm ever unfamiliar with anything, I will always put in the effort to make sure your manuscript is consistent in it's specific use of English.

JRWAF5's reader report was definitely on the money, but I had an inquiline about what they were going to say. It was more of how they said it. They gave me ideas about how I actually want my book to be...
