I have a BA in English Literature from LSU, I worked as an intern for Paige Wheeler at Folio Literary Management, I've worked for quite a few small publishers, and I've been a freelance editor and beta reader for many years.
My goal is to make sure you know your novel is in good hands and with someone who will give it the time and attention it deserves.
Know that I am there for you. I will happily work with you to make sure you're happy with the final product. We will make sure your manuscript is where you want it to be.
Developmental edits are a deep dive into the nitty gritty of your story. What works? What doesn't? Let's go through it all from start to finish. Are you using enough dialogue? Enough description? Are there repetitive words or phrases that may be hard for you to see because you've just looked at the manuscript too much?
I'll leave hundreds of comments on your work with actionable feedback to let you know how I suggest fixing these problems.
Please note, with this service I will not be making ACTUAL edits to the text. This service is meant to help revise the manuscript.

What experience do you have in editing?
I've been editing since I graduated from college in 2012. I've worked for many different companies and have been freelancing for years. I've been an avid reader my whole life and my passion is to help authors realize their dreams.
What do you charge?
My average is $0.02 per word. I'm open to negotiation though. Message me before placing an order.
What do you offer with developmental editing?
This is the nuts and bolts of what I do. Let's work together and make sure this manuscript is everything you want it to be. I will make substantial in-line comments that go over your tone, characterization, plot, etc and minor adjustments to the text.
Is this a proofreading service or line editing service?
No, I make no guarantees that all typos or grammar issues will be fixed. I will fix them when I see them, but this is a focus on the story and how we can improve on a deeper level. I always recommend a final line edit or proofread.
Do you developmentally edit non-fiction?
No. This is not my area of expertise. I have a BA in English Literature and have only worked for fiction publishing companies. I do not feel comfortable charging to work on non-fiction.
