Your app needs to print a receipt, open the cash drawer, or read a barcode scanner, and the Windows driver is getting in the way.
I run these three every day in a shop till I built and maintain, so I know where they actually break.
Thermal printers are rarely the problem, the driver mode is. Installed as a Windows generic text driver, your raw ESC/POS bytes get swallowed before they reach the printer. The cash drawer is not a separate device to program: it opens from a pulse sent to the printer's RJ11 port, so if the printer prints but the drawer stays shut, it is pulse timing. A scanner in keyboard-wedge mode types into whatever field has focus, which means capturing input globally and timing it.
HOW I WORK
First I identify how your hardware actually talks: USB raw, serial COM, or network port 9100. Then I build printing, the drawer pulse and scanner input as one tested module instead of three separate hacks. Then I send you a video of a receipt printing and the drawer opening.
WHAT I DO NOT DO
Windows only. I do not write printer drivers, and I cannot test on a device I do not have, so I will ask you to run one test build.

I develop and maintain Windows desktop software for retail: offline-first point of sale, inventory and reporting.

FAQ
Can you do this without the physical printer in front of you?
Yes, but I need you in the loop. I write and build the module, send you a test build, and you run it once on the real hardware and tell me what happened. That is normally one or two rounds. I am upfront about this because code that has never touched a device is not an integration.
My printer prints but the cash drawer never opens. Is that a wiring fault?
Usually not. The drawer opens from an ESC/POS pulse sent to the printer, and most failures are the pulse timing or a Windows driver stripping the command before it arrives. That is a software fix, and it is exactly the Standard package.
Does this work with my framework, or only Electron?
Electron and Node.js on Windows is where I am strongest, because that is what I maintain in production. The ESC/POS and drawer work itself is language independent, so another Node or web-based desktop stack is usually fine. Ask me first if you are on .NET or Java.
