What material is my mold design for — do I need to specify?
Yes, please tell me the pour material (silicone, resin, chocolate, plaster/slip, clay, or injection plastic). Draft angles, shrinkage, and wall thickness are all tuned differently per material.
Will you 3D print and ship the mold to me?
Yes I do print and ship to any country
Can you design a mold from a photo of an existing object?
Yes — send a clear photo (or several angles) and I'll model the part and build the mold around it, checking for undercuts along the way.
What's the difference between a "mold box" and an "injection mold"?
A mold box is a simple container/negative used for pouring liquid materials like resin, silicone, or plaster by hand. An injection mold is precision tooling (core + cavity) designed for a plastic injection molding machine, with draft angles and shrink allowance calculated for that process.
Do you provide the Fusion 360 source file, or just STL?
STL/OBJ (print-ready) come standard on every package. The native Fusion 360 source file is included
My part has undercuts — can it still be molded?
Often yes, using a multi-part mold with a parting line placed around the undercut, or a flexible silicone mold that can be peeled off. I'll flag this during the concept stage and recommend the right approach.
Can you calculate shrinkage for my specific plastic resin?
Yes — tell me the material (e.g., ABS, PP, PLA-based resin) and I'll apply the standard shrink rate for it. For unusual materials, I may ask you to confirm the manufacturer's shrink spec.
