Alpha reading examines the manuscript of the writer for the first time, after the first draft is completed. Oftentimes, your manuscript undergoes an alpha read in its most unedited, rough version. An alpha read is recommended if you want a fresh set of eyes to evaluate your manuscript as soon as you've finished writing it.
