I have over 15 years experience in troubleshooting application and system performance of many different vendor devices, mostly based on customized Linux and BSD flavors from servers, load balancers, routers, firewalls, wan accelerators and network monitoring devices.

I thrive in understanding and discovering patterns in text files and logs even for intermittent and hard to isolate issues. I use various Linux command-line tools, bash and Python scripting to slice and dice data files in atypical ways to discover interesting insights.

For packet analysis, I use Wireshark and especially, tshark to gain quick landscape of a given pcap trace, which helps for the subsequent deep dive. For text files, including JSON, I use various Linux text-processing tools to analyze.
