I will perform a deep dive database performance health analysis
Senior Cosultant DBA and Analytics Engineer
About this Gig
A real database health check isn't just "look at slow queries." Problems hide at every layer: OS settings, storage/file layout, instance-level config, database-level config, unused or misconfigured platform features, and object-level issues like fragmented indexes or outdated statistics. I audit the full stack, not just the symptom layer, so fixes address root cause, not just symptoms.
IMPORTANT NOTE: "The graphic below represents our full 12-area methodology, available at custom quote. Basic, Standard, and Premium tiers cover a focused subset see package comparison below for exact scope."
Works across SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Redshift platform and scope confirmed in requirements before I start.
Before we start: I'll need read access (or diagnostic query output if direct access isn't possible), plus a description of symptoms you're seeing. For engagements beyond 2 databases or broader environment coverage, message me for a custom quote multi-database audits are scoped individually since environment complexity varies too much for a fixed tier.

FAQ
What exactly does "deep" mean here vs. a basic tuning gig?
I audit every layer — OS config, storage/file layout, instance settings, database settings, platform features, and object-level issues. Most gigs only check queries. I check what's causing the queries to be slow in the first place.
What platforms do you support?
SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Redshift. Confirm your platform in requirements — diagnostic steps differ slightly, but the layered approach stays the same.
What access do you need?
Read access to the instance/database, or exported diagnostic query output if direct access isn't possible. For Premium, OS-level access (or an admin who can pull OS metrics) is also needed.
Will this cause any downtime or risk to production?
No — this is a read-only diagnostic engagement. I don't change configs or objects during the audit itself. Fixes are recommendations for you to review and implement.
Why doesn't Basic include storage or OS-level review?
Basic is scoped to object-level issues only, to keep entry cost low. Storage, instance, and OS-level review require broader access and time — that's Standard and Premium.
I have more than 2 databases or a larger environment — can you still help?
Yes — message me before ordering with your environment size and concerns. Multi-database and enterprise-scope audits are quoted individually, not packaged.
Do you implement the fixes you recommend?
Not included in this gig — it's a diagnostic and recommendation engagement. If you want implementation, message me after delivery to scope that separately.
What does the final report actually look like?
Findings organized by layer (OS, storage, instance, database, platform features, objects), each with severity and a prioritized fix list ranked by impact.
How is this different from your Cloud Cost & Performance Audit gig?
That gig focuses on cloud infrastructure sizing and cost. This one is a pure database health/performance diagnostic — no cost analysis included.
