I will set up a private local llm on your own machine with ollama

About this gig
Your data stays on your hardware. That's the whole point.
I install and configure a local LLM stack on your machine or your server Ollama plus a web UI you can actually use, models picked for the RAM and GPU you own, not for a benchmark chart. No API keys, no monthly bill, no prompts leaving your network.
Where this usually comes up: a lawyer who can't paste client files into a cloud chat. A clinic with patient notes. A shop with its own price lists. Anyone who tried a cloud model, read the terms, and stopped.
What you get:
- Ollama installed and running as a service, so it survives a reboot
- Open WebUI on top a normal chat window in your browser, no terminal needed day to day
- Models chosen and pulled for your actual hardware, with a short note on what each one is good at
- A one-page written guide: how to start it, how to add a model, what to do if it stops
Works on Linux, Windows or a VPS. I have been running Linux servers since 1999 and keep my own projects self-hosted, so this is the setup I use myself.
NOT included: fine-tuning or training your own model, buying hardware for you, RAG over your document archive, connecting it to your CRM or website. Any of those tell me and I will q

FAQ
Which AI apps work with this?
Anything that speaks MCP — Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and more.
Do you host it?
I deploy to your server, or hand you the code to run. Cloud/hosting cost is on you.
Can you connect my tool?
Send the docs. If it has an API or a database, the answer is almost always yes.
How do we talk?
All in chat, on your schedule. You keep the whole thread as a record.
What do you need from me to start?
The docs or schema for whatever you want connected, plus which MCP client you use. That's usually enough to begin.
Will it run on my computer?
Tell me the RAM and whether you have a GPU, and I'll say honestly what size model fits. 16 GB runs a small model fine. No GPU is workable but slower.
Does anything get sent to the internet?
Only the one-time model download. After that you can pull the network cable and it still answers.
Which model do I get?
Depends on your hardware and language. I'll pull two or three so you can compare, and leave the best one as default.
Can you do this on a rented server instead of my laptop?
Yes. Same setup, I just need SSH access to the server.
What if it breaks after you finish?
The written guide covers restart and the common errors. If something in my setup breaks, I fix it.
