Why is the number of Products, Customers, and Orders so important to quote?
I will usually copy over products using a staging dataabase so the number of products in not so important. However, very large inventories 10k+ take many hours to load and move around, requiring more administration. On several platforms orders can only be loaded using the API, hence cost/transaction
Can we do a video call to discuss my requirements?
Yes, absolutely! I am very happy to jump on a normal or video call at any convenient time to discuss a project. I have direct experience migrating between all the major eCommerce platforms and can talk you through the processes. Feel free to ask any project related or technical questions.
What information do you need from me to start the migration?
At the least, I will require login credentials for the source and target systems. It is best if you create a new user in each system for me using the EMail address I will supply. Depending upon the complexity and platform of the migration I may need login credentials for the hosting company.
Will you move my Domain name to the new migrated system?
Yes. There are complexities in moving domain names around and preserving other services such as Email. I will recommend the best methodology and will usually require login credentials for the domain registrar to make the changes when you go live with migrated site.
Can you make changes to product variant/category/collection/fields/metafields during the migration?
Yes. A benefit of using my services to migrate product information as opposed to automated solutions is that I use a staging database to clean the data before pushing the products into the new system. This allows me to clean and re-categorise product data and make any other changes as necessary.
Can you make sure that my site does not lose Google rankings after migration?
Yes, an optional extra for this gig is included, for which I will ensure that all 301 redirects are in place and tested for products/categories/collections and all major static pages. Whilst Google will index all the new URL's on the migrated site, the old indexed URL's will be redirected permantly.
Can you improve my site's SEO?
Yes, if you want to improve your site's SEO and google rankings as part of the migration we can re-structure the site and ensure all the tools are in place to ensure better SEO. I can teach you how to use the tools and run the site for better results. You can outsource ongoing SEO to me if necessary
