Have you finished your sci-fi or fantasy story and wondered what an actual reader will think?
I'm here to give you an honest, thoughtful reader's perspective, with plenty of encouragement along the way. I've been beta reading and critiquing fiction for 8+ years and have completed nearly 500 beta reads.
I'll read your manuscript and provide:
- Detailed in-line comments throughout
- A comprehensive reader report
- Feedback on plot, characters, pacing, conflict, and more
- Notes on confusion, inconsistencies, and areas that may need attention
- What is working well, not just what isn't
I'm known for my "compliment sandwich" approach. I know how vulnerable it can feel to hand your story to a stranger, so my goal isn't to tear it apart. It's to help you see what's working and where your story could become stronger.
I don't believe in simply saying "I liked it" or "the middle was slow." I want you to understand why I reacted the way I did.

FAQ
What does a beta read cover?
This will mostly depend on what your story needs as I read, but in general, a beta read with me consists of focusing on: Pacing, plot, character development, worldbuilding, typos, grammar, and prose. In the requirements, I always ask what you'd like me to focus on.
What if I have follow up questions?
I always welcome follow-up questions! However, if you have them, I'd appreciate it if you'd ask them within the gig chat since I do not typically offer revisions.
What file types do you accept?
I currently accept manuscripts as doc, docx, pdf, and google doc files. If you wish to send me a google doc, please talk to me about this before booking so I can walk you through the process of sharing it.
Do you use AI for your beta reads?
No. I do beta reading because I love storytelling. So, I do absolutely everything from scratch. I don't use AI to beta read or to write the reader report.
