About this gig
You have a short film, a feature, a commercial, or any sort of content, and it's ready to be shown. Film festivals and private cinema screenings require your content to be delivered in a DCP. This can be expensive and quite the process, especially for indie films.
What I offer:
- SMPTE and InterOp variants
- Stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 audio formats
- 2K and 4K resolutions
- DCP Encoded into JPEG2000 within a MXF Wrapper
- Conversion to the DCI colour space standard (XYZ)
- Flat, Scope and Full Container aspect ratios
What is extra?
- Upscaling and picture enhancement
- Stereo upmixing to 5.1 and 7.1
- KDM & DKDM Encryption
A bit more on the process:
- A conversation about your requirements
- A tailored specification
- High-quality fast conversion
- Quality check and verify the integrity of the DCP
- Final DCP sent via a fast and secure shareable link
The DCP will be fully quality-controlled and validated, so the audience will enjoy your content as you intended.
The process starts with a detailed discussion about your needs, so feel free to message me for a personalised quote!

FAQ
What is a DCP?
A DCP is a high-quality standardised format for delivering and screening films and other content in cinemas. The film is converted into high-resolution JPEG2000 video, alongside an audio file and a metadata file for the projection system to know what to do with each file.
How long does it take to make a DCP?
That depends on the complexity of your needs, the runtime and resolution of the content, with feature films and 4K DCP's taking longer, but turnaround is normally ranging from 1 to 3 days.
What type of file should I send to you?
Almost any video format can be converted into a DCP, but to ensure the highest quality, a ProRes 422HQ or DNxHR HQX is preferable, or ProRes 4444/HQ if the footage was shot 12-bit. For audio, 24-bit/48khz WAV or AIFF is preferred. I can help you with the process of exporting the finished film.
Is Stereo 2.0 ok?
This depends on the cinema used for screening. In the smaller venues, Stereo will be fine. However, in the bigger screens with wider projection, stereo, in particular the dialogue, won't sound great. So I recommend you mix to 3.0 (Left/Centre/Right).
