I will convert your stl files to 3mf and prepare your 3d models for 3d printing

About this gig
Accurate STL-to-3MF conversion helps you move from an existing 3D model to a file prepared for your printing workflow. I convert your STL files, check dimensions, and organize the models according to your agreed size and setup requirements.
You receive 3MF files with model previews so you can review their dimensions and arrangement before slicing. For slicer projects, I also prepare model orientation and plate layout based on your specified printer and slicer.
My service covers:
- STL-to-3MF file conversion
- Dimension checks and resizing
- Model orientation setup
- Plate arrangement for slicer projects
- Previews showing the prepared models
Send your STL files, required dimensions, and setup instructions. For slicer projects, include your printer model and slicer so we can confirm compatibility before work begins.
Conversion alone does not add colors or repair damaged geometry. Major mesh repair, redesign, and additional modifications require a separate scope review.
Please message me before ordering so I can review your files and confirm your requirements.

FAQ
Will I receive a standard 3MF model or a complete slicer project?
The delivery depends on the agreed scope. A converted 3MF contains the model, while a slicer project can include its arrangement and application-specific settings. Please confirm which you require before ordering.
What if I don’t know the original STL’s dimensions?
Send one known measurement or your intended final dimensions. STL files do not reliably specify units, so I need a size reference to avoid delivering a model at the wrong scale.
Will the 3MF project work in a different slicer?
The geometry may open, but project settings may not transfer correctly between slicers. Tell me your intended slicer before ordering so I can prepare and check the delivery for that workflow.
Can you combine separate STL parts without losing their alignment?
Yes, where the files contain usable alignment information. If the parts arrive in different positions, please provide an assembly reference so I can assess the additional setup required.
What happens if my model exceeds my printer’s build area?
I can review its size and orientation first. Resizing changes the final dimensions, while splitting requires additional work. We will agree on the approach before proceeding.
Can you preserve the dimensions of holes, joints, and mating parts?
I can keep the supplied geometry and agreed scale. However, resizing affects these features, and physical fit depends on your printer, material, and tolerances. Please identify any critical dimensions.
What if you discover mesh problems in my STL?
I will explain the issue and whether it affects the agreed conversion. Major repairs or geometry changes require a separate scope agreement before additional work begins.
Are supports and print settings included in slicer preparation?
Orientation and plate layout do not automatically include support design or settings optimization. Please specify these needs before ordering so I can confirm what is included.
Can the converted file be used for multicolor printing?
Conversion alone does not create color regions or filament assignments. Send your color reference and printer setup first so I can assess whether additional preparation is possible.
How will you verify the delivered file?
I will reopen the 3MF in the agreed software, check its dimensions and model arrangement, and provide previews. This checks the digital setup; it does not replace a physical test print.
