I have a degree in English and minors in editing and creative writing where I studied the nitty-gritty details of language. I've been line and copy editing professionally since the beginning of 2022 and working with authors since 2020. I've worked as an acquisitions editor for a science fiction and fantasy magazine, and I've been an editor for over a dozen novels.
Here are the things I typically look at in a line and copy edit:
- Language/voice/syntax
- Grammar
- Punctuation
- Continuity
- Fact consistency (descriptions, settings, character details, etc.)
- Technical consistency (spelling, capitalization, font usage, punctuation, numerals, etc.)
- Filler words
- Weak verbs
- Dialogue
I specialize in young adult, romance, historical fiction, science fiction, and fantasy books.

FAQ
How do you do your line and copy edits?
I usually use the commenting and track changes features in Word. If that doesn't work for you though, I'm happy to try to adapt to do something that does work for you.
How should I send over my writing?
If possible, please send it in a Word document.
I'm not sure if my story needs this or something else. What should I do?
Send me a message and we can chat about what stage your story is in and what the best step is moving forward. I want to help you make your story the best that it can be!
Do you edit other genres?
Yes! I specialize in YA, romance, historical fiction, science fiction, and fantasy, but I'm happy to work with most genres. I don't edit erotic romance.
What will I get when you deliver the order?
When I deliver the order, you'll get your edited manuscript with all changes visible through track changes and a clean version of your manuscript with all changes accepted. You can also add a style sheet to the order if you'd like one to help you keep all the terms and names in your book consistent.
What if my word count isn't close to one of your packages?
Send me a message telling me your word count. I'm happy to create custom offers.
