About this gig
Qualia Audio Lab is a professional mastering studio and audio restoration/conservation laboratory with lab grade specs and monitoring. This means a flat and precise monitoring condition and GPS precise clock with minimal phase noise clocking the entire system. What you get though, isn't just the studio but a total and dedicated attention to detail and human approach to your project, from an engineer with 15+ years of experience on mastering, restoration, audio post-production and sound recording who is also a lecturer on sound and long time musician with a long catalog of collaborations and works.
I do emphasize the human aspect of this lab. No track or project is treated the same or within an automatic workflow. Do get in touch to discuss your needs and feel free to request a sample in advance.

Qualia Audio Lab is an Apple Digital Masters certified professional mastering studio, audio restoration and preservation laboratory. It features a custom Bowers & Wilkins 801 Matrix S2 system and lab grade standards for precise mastering and analysis.
Carlos is a mastering engineer, owner of Qualia. He has supported artists, labels, and institutions achieve quality masters while preserving the integrity of recordings across analogue and digital media. Specialized in audio mastering, restoration, and preservation of magnetic and grooved mediums and with over 18 years in professional audio.

What do you mean lab grade?
Mastering is not an art nor voodoo. What I do is a techincal and analytic work based on scientific principles and human psychoacoustics. The studio is engineered as to perform with the highest degree of fidelity to those principles.

Right. Tech aside, It will be me, listening to your tracks, and decisions upon them rely on my experience and your requirements. Every track/audio file is a collaboration between me and you, the goal is to get a high quality, professional product while maintaining everything you've created.
