I specialize in updating customized Shopify themes without losing the code, layouts, sections, and features a store relies on. I compare the current and target versions, identify relevant changes, transfer and adapt Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and test the updated theme before handover. What files do you need for the audit?
Upload two ZIP files: your previous customized theme and the new or updated theme. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes, open the actions menu (...) for each theme, and choose Download theme file. Notes or custom code identifiers are optional.
Will you update or modify my Shopify theme?
No. This Gig provides a technical comparison and PDF audit report only. I do not install, modify, merge, or publish either theme. The report shows what was transferred, what is missing or partial, and where conflicts or risks require follow-up work.
Do I need the untouched original version of my old theme?
No. The audit compares your previous customized theme directly with the new theme version. An untouched original copy is not required. Custom code identifiers or notes can provide useful context, but they are optional.
Does the audit test apps, checkout, or live store functionality?
No. This is a file-based comparison of the two theme ZIPs. It can flag relevant theme-code changes and integration risks, but it does not execute or test apps, checkout, external services, or live store behavior. Final testing in an unpublished theme is still required.
Do you need access to my Shopify admin?
No. I only need the two exported theme ZIP files and any optional notes you want to provide. Please do not send passwords, staff credentials, collaborator codes, customer data, or other account access information.
