Old book scans come out brown, gray, crooked, and covered in stamps, spots, and edge shadows often with two pages squeezed into one image. I fix all of that.
I split double-page scans into clean single pages, whiten the background while keeping the text razor-sharp, remove stamps and marks, resize to a proper book format, and if you need it hand your text back as an editable Word file.
This is restoration, not just OCR. Your before/after will be night and day, and your original illustrations and photos are kept exactly as they are (or renewed in fresh color as an add-on).

Can you fix any scan, no matter how bad?
Most old scans clean up beautifully. Very severe damage — torn pages, missing text, heavy ink bleed — has limits. Send me a sample page first and I'll tell you honestly what result to expect before you order.
What do I need to send you?
Your scanned book as a PDF (or images). If you have the original source, great — but a clear scan is all I need. Just let me know the total page count so we pick the right package.
Do I get editable text, or just a clean PDF?
Basic delivers a clean, restored PDF. Restore + Word and Full Restore also give you the text as an editable Word (DOCX) file. OCR is included in those tiers.
Will my illustrations and photos be kept?
Yes — all original images are preserved exactly as they are. If you'd like faded illustrations brought back in fresh color, that's available as an add-on.
My book is longer than 200 pages. Can you still help?
Absolutely. Just message me with the page count and I'll send a custom offer priced for the full book.
Do you need anything besides the PDF for the best result?
The PDF alone is all I need. But if your scan came with extra source files — original page images, or an OCR/text file alongside the PDF — send those too. They're usually higher quality than the compressed PDF and let me give you an even cleaner result. Not required, but it helps when you have them.
