I ALWAYS choose agents who are listed in reliable agent lists (individual reliable agency webs, Querytracker, Manuscript Wishlist, Publishers Marketplace, Reedsy…). I check each agent’s information from more than one source to see if the agent is active and interested in your genre(s).

Each agent I choose must be from a reliable source. I also check each agent's name for potential scams on pages monitoring author safety and look for any mentions of suspicious or unethical agent behavior. I do not use such agents in my lists.

Most agents looking for works written in English are from US, UK, CA. In most cases, the nationality or location of the author does not matter. Most of the agents accept clients from all around the world and everything is managed electronically.

Sometimes people ask me this question, thinking I am a publishing agency or a literary agent myself. The answer is, no. I do not publish literary works myself. However, I provide reliable publishing contacts for authors so they have a good chance of getting a real literary agent representation.
