Will my store go down during the migration?
No. I use a staged migration approach, your Lightspeed store stays live and operational the entire time. The new Shopify store is built and fully tested in the background. Only when everything is confirmed working do we switch the domain over, which takes minutes, not hours.
What data gets transferred from Lightspeed to Shopify?
Depending on your package: products (with images, descriptions, SKUs, variants, pricing), product categories and collections, customer records, order history, inventory counts, and POS data. The Business and Enterprise packages also include SEO URL redirects to protect your search rankings.
Will my Google rankings be affected?
Only if your URL structure changes and no redirects are set up, which is exactly what most migration tools skip. In the Business and Enterprise packages, I set up 301 redirects from every old Lightspeed URL to the correct Shopify URL, so your SEO equity, traffic, and rankings carry over safely.
I use Lightspeed POS in-store. Will that data come across?
Yes. The Business and Enterprise packages include full Lightspeed POS data mapping to Shopify POS, inventory levels, product variants, and customer profiles. I also provide a setup walkthrough so your team knows how to operate the new Shopify POS from day one.
How long will the migration take?
The Starter package is delivered in 4 days, Business in 6 days, and Enterprise in up to 10 days. Timeline depends on your catalogue size, data complexity, and how quickly you can provide access credentials. I'll give you a realistic timeline after reviewing your store before you place the order.
What do I need to provide to get started?
You'll need to give me read access to your Lightspeed store and collaborator access to your Shopify account (or I can help you create one). No need to share full admin passwords, Shopify's collaborator access system keeps everything secure.
Do you offer support after the migration is done?
Yes. The Business package includes 3 days of post-launch support and the Enterprise package includes 7 days. During this time I'll fix any data discrepancies, broken links, or display issues that appear after go-live. Most issues, if any, appear in the first 48 hours — and I'll be there.
