About this gig
I am technical designer specializing in sign design. I have 8 years experience in the sign industry as a field assistant, permit runner, estimator and project manager, and sales person.
As you may already know, designing a sign isn't as simple as opening up the canva app and creating a social media graphic or creating a flyer in photoshop. Designing a sign takes experience and knowledge of building codes, sign regulations, structural engineering principles, manufacturing processes and installation experience and thats exactly what I bring to the table.
I WILL PRODUCE YOUR SHOP DRAWINGS
Shop drawings include the following:
- Complete Manufacturing "blueprint " type drawings such as structural members, fasteners, anchors and other components that your fabricators can follow
- Specific Colors, Finishes and other appearance specs
- Wiring Diagram for LED and Neon based signs including power supplies and switches
- Cut files for routing, printing, plotting and installation wall patterns
- Isometrics, Front, Side, Top and X-Ray Views as needed

What do I need to provide you for a shop drawing?
You need to provide me a detailed description of how you want to build your sign with all structural and finishing specs. If you don't know how you want to build, I can consult and provide the way I would build it from experience.
How much detail will the shop drawing have?
You will have all the details you need to fabricate and avoid any guesswork from your fabricators further avoiding potential losses due to assumptions by your fabricators. These drawings are an extension of your permit drawing and should match the permit drawings you have.
Can you create flexi files ?
No, I do not work with Flexi sign design software. I use only Adobe Illustrator for 2D Drafting and SketchUp for 3d Modeling.
What happens if my fabricator makes a mistake and blames it on your drawings?
Drawings provided are for reference only. The customer is responsible for reviewing all details for accuracy before use in fabrication, installation, or permitting. TrulySigns (Jose Ortiz) is not liable for errors, omissions, or misinterpretations. Use at your own risk.
