Q: Do I need a ShipStation account?
Yes. ShipStation is what connects to UPS/FedEx/USPS to generate labels. Any active plan works. If you don't have one, I offer ShipStation account setup as a separate gig.
Q: My customers ship items TO me — does this work for that?
Yes, that's exactly what this is built for. You enter your business address as the destination. Customers fill in their own pickup address. The label they receive ships items to you.
Q: Will it match my site's branding?
Yes. The form uses your existing WordPress theme styling so it looks native. Customer emails can be branded with your logo and colors on Standard and Premium tiers.
Q: Can I use my negotiated UPS/FedEx rates?
Yes. As long as your carrier account is connected to ShipStation, your negotiated rates will be used automatically.
Q: What if I use Unishippers, EasyPost, or another reseller?
Label generation works with most resellers. Direct API pickup scheduling may have limits with resellers — I'll confirm fit during intake before starting.
Q: How is this different from ShipStation's app?
ShipStation's app requires staff logins. This is for your customers to generate labels themselves on your website, fully automated, no staff involvement.
Q: Will customers be able to abuse this and generate unlimited free labels?
Add the Cloudflare extra for rate limiting if you're worried. The form sits on your site (not a public API), so casual abuse is unlikely.
Q: Do you offer ongoing support?
ShipStation API keys must be refreshed yearly for security. I offer annual maintenance as an extra. You also get documentation so your dev can handle it in-house.
Q: What happens if a customer enters a bad address?
ShipStation validates addresses before generating the label. Invalid addresses return an error to the customer instead of producing a broken label.
Q: Can I add this to multiple pages or have multiple forms?
Yes — add the "Additional Form" extra for a second form on a different page.
