What is a provisional patent application?
It is a U.S. filing that can establish a filing date for a sufficiently disclosed invention. It is not itself an issued patent.
Does a provisional application protect my invention automatically?
No. It does not itself mature into a patent. You generally need to file a corresponding non-provisional application within 12 months to benefit from the provisional filing date, subject to applicable requirements.
Is a patent search included?

What does the application draft include?
